Our experience with Adrian has been truly remarkable and has led to an exceptional outcome for our newly built family home.

We were initially introduced to Adrian early in the design stage of our house and he was able to immediately provide extremely valuable construction advice that allowed us to improve our design and achieve more with our budget. Following this, we selected Adrian to assist with our design team to finalise the design and proceed to construction.

During construction Adrian went to great lengths to make sure this stage was made easy for us. Adrian was intimately involved in all aspects of the construction and put in considerable effort to meticulously review work performed by others, ensuring a high-quality construction outcome. Many times, you would see Adrian and his subcontractors, on site for hours, checking angles, lines, dimensions etc. to make sure it was perfect. It’s this dedication that sets Adrian apart from others, which is visible when you walk through any of his projects.

Our construction was completed during the peaks of Covid and across the 6 lockdowns. This presented many challenges, including materials and labour shortages. Adrian was strategic in his construction approach, and undertook a number of measures to overcome this, such as stock-piling materials, changing construction sequencing based on what was available, having multiple work fronts etc, all leading to greater certainty and avoiding significant construction delays and cost blow-outs which were experienced by many other projects in-progress at the same time.

Professionally, Adrian was extremely organised, kept us regularly informed on progress, future activities, and always gave us lots of notice when a building decision was required from us. 

Contract administration was fair and transparent, and we feel Adrian acted with integrity whenever there was a variation, either through something unforeseen or something extra we had requested, which is not uncommon when undertaking a large project. 

Post construction, Adrian has regularly checked-in to make sure everything ‘works’ as intended and has been quick to resolve anything, no matter how minor it seems.

I have known and worked with Adrian for close to 10 years on a variety of projects ranging from townhouses to multi level apartment buildings to my own family home.  Over this time he has always been a pleasure to work with and his eye for detail has ensured that the end product delivered has always been to the highest standards.  On each and every project we have worked on, Adrian has also provided input into the initial planning and design process to ensure cost efficiencies were obtained from the outset.  He has also overseen all the landscaping down to the pool construction to ensure that all aspects of the build were completed on time and on budget.  I would have no hesitation in working with Adrian again or recommending him for your next family home or project.

I was introduced to Adrian via an acquaintance in the building industry who previously employed him for many years. At the time, I was seeking several builders to respond to an urgent tender as I wanted to commence works quickly to avoid proposed heritage planning laws. 

My previous house was built for my family by a reputable builder and was then subsequently renovated by another builder that was also recommended. After reviewing the tenders, including one of the builder’s mentioned, I shortlisted Adrian’s plus another. Adrian was impressive from the start. He is meticulous. It was clear that he planned thoroughly. Consequently, he was confident that he had considered and allowed for contingencies inherent in major renovations. Of course, neither of us predicted COVID-19, yet we decided to proceed with the renovation during the pandemic for different reasons. Our architects sounded confident that Adrian understood the brief, which gave some confidence to proceed. 

The arrangement with the architects was that I would pay them an hourly fee when they were needed, rather than seeking their support to oversee the tender and project. A close commercial builder and friend helped me, and either Adrian or I would contact the architects throughout the project when we needed them. Adrian’s employees and subcontractors were sequenced to comply with COVID regulations. He also ensured that most working days there was at least one-person onsite building. 

As Adrian has a low tolerance for poor workmanship, we also noticed that he only subcontracted to people whom he knew or were referred by those he trusted. There were some variations made to the plans in the course of construction following consultation with the architects for practical or aesthetic reasons. These were handled honestly. Pricing was clear and I never felt I was being extorted or mistrusted Adrian’s intentions. He takes a lot of pride in the work he delivers. He stakes his reputation on it and has built a brand based on good customer experiences and excellent results. During the defects period, Adrian was particularly impressive attending to all problems promptly at Adecca’s cost. I have no hesitation recommending Adecca, in fact I’ve already recommended him to friends and family. The architects were complimentary of his team’s workmanship and the way he handled the project too.

To capture how we feel with the least number of words is too simple say “It was a dream build” . We have an understanding of construction so would be the first to say that we are exacting clients, but we were never disappointed or frustrated because of your transparent approach with 
everything, attention to detail and absolute determination to get it right and complete a home of an exacting high standard. 

From the beginning of sitting down with you throughout the quoting period to the handover of the keys, nothing was ever too much trouble and thank you for the pride you took in every aspect of our  home. 

There are always issues that arise with any build especially custom home builds no matter how well and detailed the drawings are, but you always found solutions that enhanced the quality rather than take a short cut. A testament to your ethics, professionalism and honesty. 

We would like to also recognise the efforts of your lead carpenter Mal who was practically on site  from beginning to end. Thank you for your commitment and craftsmanship even through there were some challenging times, a real pleasure to have you on the site. 

To summarise, Adecca Contructions provided exceptional quality, communication and service and it was a genuine pleasure to work with you. 

There is the expression that you only get what you pay for which is very true but in this experience of building with Adrian we got more! Thank you.
